Learning disabilities can be described as conditions in which, individuals are unable to comprehend, analyze and implement information in a way that most of the others do. It is an impediment to a person’s learning process and understanding of his environmental surroundings. Learning disabilities occur when the nervous system is not able to send and receive signals from the brain in a proper way. Learning disabilities are generally found among members of the younger population, especially kids. Learning disabilities can be classified into 3 types of conditions, namely Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Aphasia.
Spotting any of these types of learning disabilities very early in kids is a tough task. Since learning disabilities also hamper a kid’s way of communication and expression, identifying the condition becomes very difficult for parents and teachers alike. The condition is very complex and lays hidden. Learning disabilities in children can be identified by way of looking for certain signs in their behavioral patterns or learning processes.
Some of the definite give away signs are visual incoherence, improper and unusual spelling, inconsistent usage of words, difficulty in mathematical calculations and logic. If these signs are apparent and continue over a period of time, then professional help should be sought to bring the affected kids back to the mainstream.
